You think you know me. You don’t. You know nothing. Everyone has a hidden meaning. Did you think I know myself? Did you think I knew this was possible? Did you wonder how I can stand here all this time otherwise.

It was strange waking up to the reality of self. We were never prepared for it.
We had no idea that this was even a thing.
We were a simple person by normal standards. Weren’t we?
Had a job. Made ends meet. Had a family ‘cause we wanted/needed one. But really ‘cause, it was expected.
What else is there, right?
Then, as we age and look around us, we see that nothing fits quite right anymore. It bugs us to try to find out the thing that changed it all. Was it an event? Time?
It took years. But we finally realized it was ourselves that changed. We no longer fit in our lives. We have outgrown it. But we did not move on. We held on to the broken misshapen pieces. The bits that should have been right. The parts we used to fit so neatly in.
But what’s the use of that? It hurts everyone and everything around us. Including ourselves.
That is where we begin.
We need to move on.
Letting go is the hardest part. Change is inevitable. But we stall.
Like the mother bird pushing the baby out of the nest, we need to let go and trust that we fly instead of fall.
There is no more doubt. We are destined to find the next step. To move onward. Let go of our self-imposed cages and crutches. Move past it all and become what we need to become.
The next thing in life. The next step.

So, I pack my things. Not much. Only what I can carry. Take my funds. And walk out the door.
