It looks easy, but is it?
I never thought about what goes into the videos posted of game play.
I watch content creators who are playing the games I play. I think. “that is easy. Record your game as you play and post it on the web.”
Trying to Create Content
I downloaded the free recording software that everyone says they use. I hit record as I start a new game and I play.
Simple right?
Then, why do I have hours of gameplay footage files sitting on my pc? Why is none of it posted to the web?
The realization hits as I look at some of the video footage, there is much that needs to be done to them before anyone could see them.
Editing
As easy as it seams at first look, the editing process takes time and patience and creativity. There is a lot of work that happens after you stop recording to make content more enjoyable.
I can think some steps that need to happen but I know I am still missing some.
Cutting the footage to usable bits. Rerecording sections that did not capture correctly. Rearranging scenes to make the story flow. Voice overs to connect the storylines. Adding transitions and others bits and pieces of art to spruce it up.
About voice overs... I do not have a dedicated space (office/room) where I can make clear, clean voice recordings. Not that I would like anyone to hear my recorded voice. Anyone else hate they way their voice sounds on recordings?

I have a new respect for all the creators out there. The thousands of you out there who take the time and effort to post well organized videos, are amazing. Thank y ou all the hard work you put into your content for us all to enjoy.
